Imagine working towards a dream vacation, a wedding, a down payment on a home, or a child's college education with your partner, but with the added benefit of complete transparency and individual control over your contributions. FutureMoney's shared goal functionality makes this a reality. By leveraging this feature, couples and families can ditch the spreadsheets and fragmented accounts, creating a seamless space to visualize progress, celebrate milestones, and achieve your financial aspirations together – all while maintaining ownership of your designated contributions. Let's dive into how shared goals empower your financial journey, one shared dream at a time.
Here are the steps to sharing a goal:
- Log in to your app
- From the home screen, click on a person’s name. This may be “You” or anyone else you are currently investing for using FutureMoney.
- Click on the goal you want to share
- Click on “...” in the top right corner
- Click on Share Goal, and follow the steps. The person you share with will be notified by SMS text message.
For the recipient:
If that person has a FutureMoney account, they will be able to accept it when they next log in. If they do not have a FutureMoney account yet, it will prompt them to download the app and go through the onboarding process.
Next to the goal name, you’ll be able to see that it’s shared. If ever you want to unshare a goal, go back to the “...” section from your goal screen, and click Share Goal again. There you can remove anyone it’s been shared with, or share with others.
FutureMoney's shared goals give each person the ability to view the current total account value and what is on target to be achieved, but access to only withdraw the value of their own account - shared visibility, but with retained control. This is a game-changer for couples and families striving towards shared financial aspirations. By providing a transparent, collaborative platform, it empowers you to visualize progress, celebrate milestones, and achieve your goals together. Start your journey toward shared financial success today!
